The City of Alliance was founded in the year 1850. The function and purpose of the City of Alliance is to provide governmental services such as fire and police protection, water and sewer services, street maintenance and repair, parks and recreation, zoning and building functions, health services and all the other services which contribute to the health, safety and well-being of our citizens.
The City of Alliance is located in northeast Ohio in Stark County. Alliance is situated in the northeast corner of the county, approximately 20 miles from the county seat of Canton, Ohio. The population of Alliance is approximately 24,000.

Formed in September of 1999 by a group of business and community leaders interested in encouraging business development in the Alliance area, the Foundation has already made an impact on the economic development of the area. Since 1999, Alliance has experienced positive changes. The AADF is an excellent resource center for businesses planning to expand, relocate or startup.
The purpose of the Alliance Area Development Foundation is to positively impact retention of companies, to assist companies in their expansion, and to attract new companies to the Alliance area. The AADF accomplishes its purpose by assisting local companies, area governments, and economic development organizations in building successful and complementary relationships that result in business growth.
